 Letter from the President

It is an honor for me to serve as your Santa Barbara Chapter president for EWGA. There is no way I could possibly fill the soft-cleat shoes of our past president, Tammy Esposito. She provided our Chapter with guidance and enthusiasm; she showed such generosity in raising funds and awareness for Breast Cancer, and she took a special interest in increasing our membership. Congratulations on a fantastic job, and thank you Tammy!
I am totally dedicated to making EWGA-SB the best chapter ever, and will be depending on my outstanding board: Mary Lou Ramos, my most trusted Vice President…Kitty Soo Hoo, our invaluable Treasurer…Marilyn Freeman, Communications genius. Lane Kerkering our secretary, Irelle Beatie and Jill Ireland as golf events as well as Loretta Redd our Sponsorship Chair and the entire board of volunteers.
We started out this year with one of the special features of being a member of EWGA-SB, and that is the support of local charities. In addition to our work on behalf of Breast Cancer, we are also contributing to programs like girl’s and youth golf, and we support the Santa Barbara Women’s Open tournament.
In order to support these causes, and to also increase our visibility, we will be asking you to work with us to provide contacts or make suggestions of potential sponsors. The more income we produce, the greater our visibility, the larger our Chapter and the more frequent we can host events!
I really want to encourage new golfers to join, and take advantage of the knowledge and support by our Education Chairperson, Beth Rinehold. Please encourage your friends and family, whether new to the game of golf or not, to join us…with the experience of our Membership Chair, Esther McKinley, we are destined for great fun and more members!
There is something for everyone at the Santa Barbara Chapter of EWGA, whether you’re looking for fun golf, competitive games or to share in camaraderie and cocktails among an inviting group of friends and business contacts.
